Regina Office
GARRETT SCHOUS, CIP
Garrett began his insurance career with the Co-operators in January of 2000. He spent eight months there as part of their CAT adjusting team. Garrett then worked at Galon Insurance Brokers as a personal lines and farm broker and then with Saskatchewan Government Insurance as an auto adjuster. In September 2003, he accepted a position with Dahlman Adjusters. Garrett purchased the company in 2007, and since changed the name to Midwest Claims Services. In addition to managing day to day operations of the company, Garrett handles all types of property claims, including commercial, agricultural, personal lines, oil field and industrial claims. Garrett earned his CIP designation in 2004. He is a licensed adjuster in Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, and British Columbia.
Garrett was born and raised in Regina and grew up in an insurance environment. His father worked at SGI Canada for over 40 years, and his mother owned a Co-operators Agency in Regina. He currently resides in downtown Regina with his wife Jami and son William. He enjoys golfing, NFL football, and travelling. He is a vinyl record collector and a live music aficionado.
SHARI MOSTHAF, CIP
Shari began her insurance career with SGI in 1995. While at SGI, she worked as an underwriter in the Commercial Lines department. She then worked as both an injury adjuster and general adjuster. As a general adjuster at SGI, Shari specialized in complex liability including medical malpractice, professional liability and general liability claims. Shari joined Midwest Claims Services in May 2008. At Midwest Claims, she handles all lines of insurance claims, including major loss property and liability claims.
Shari is licensed through the Saskatchewan Insurance Council. She is a member of the Insurance Institute of Canada and the Canadian Independent Adjusters Association. In addition to obtaining her CIP designation in 2003, Shari has completed numerous courses and seminars based on; boiler and machinery breakdown, Provincial and Municipal Liability, fire investigation, and HAAG Engineering.
In her spare time, Shari teaches Pilates classes, trains for triathlons and officiates triathlon events across Canada.
CURTIS HORWATH
Curtis began his adjusting career with Wawanesa Mutual Insurance in January of 2011. In July of 2011 he started at Midwest claims. Curtis is experienced in the handling of wind, water, and hail claims. Curtis began taking CIP classes in the fall of 2011 through the Insurance Institute of Canada and is currently licensed as a level 1 adjuster through the insurance council of Saskatchewan. Curtis is a Certified HAAG Inspector and has completed fall protection training permitting roof inspections greater than 3 meters.
Curtis was born and raised in Regina, where he currently resides with his wife Krista, daughter Olivia and son Hunter. He is a competitive curler on the World and Saskatchewan Curling tours. He is a Saskatchewan Roughrider season ticket holder, enjoys golfing and is an avid football and baseball fan.
JORDAN DEMARSH, CIP
Jordan began his adjusting career with Wawanesa Mutual Insurance in October of 2009. In October of 2010, Jordan accepted a position with Midwest Claims Services. Jordan is experienced in handling both personal lines and commercial lines property claims. Jordan is a Certified HAAG Inspector and has fall protection training allowing roof inspections of heights greater than 3 meters. Jordan earned his CIP designation in 2022. He is a licensed adjuster in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba.
Jordan was born and raised in Tisdale, Saskatchewan and grew up in an insurance environment. Both Jordan’s grandfather and father were involved in the ownership at the InsuranCentre in Tisdale. Jordan moved to Regina in 2009 and currently resides with his wife Amanda and son Jack. He enjoys spending time with his family and enjoys golfing, NFL football, MLB baseball and travelling.
DARREN KUZNITSOFF, CIP
Darren began his insurance career with Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) in 1996. He spent 15 years at SGI working as an injury representative. Darren has vast knowledge of 'no fault insurance' and a wealth of experience in the bodily injury and liability sectors of the industry. Darren also worked as a Claims Business Analyst at SGI. In his role, he trained other bodily injury adjusters in the province.
Darren joined Midwest Claims in 2013. He has handled all types of personal lines claims including sewer back ups, hail, wind, ice damming and fires. Darren also handles auto injury claims for out of province claimants injured in Saskatchewan. In 2015 and forward, Darren offered Saskatchewan Auto Injury training courses for insurers and their auto injury adjusters throughout Canada. Darren obtained his CIP designation in 2010 and is a HAAG Certified Inspector.
Born and raised in Watson, SK, Darren moved several times with his career with SGI and now resides in Regina. In his spare time, he enjoys curling, golfing, playing poker and is a fan of all sports.
AMY WOODS
Amy began her insurance career with Midwest Claims Services in September of 2013. Amy began taking CIP classes in 2014 and is currently licensed to adjust claims in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. She continues to take courses and is currently working towards her CIP designation. Amy handles a wide variety of personal lines and commercial lines property claims, as well as liability and bodily injury losses. She operates our western Canada telephone adjusting claims unit, handling claims for insurers across western Canada. Amy is an expert in condominium claims and regularly assists property managers and condo boards with the navigation of claims between unit owners and condo boards.
Amy resides in Regina with her husband. She enjoys golfing, yoga and travelling.
RICHARD KLARER, CIP
Richard began his insurance adjusting career in May of 1993 with Wawanesa Mutual Insurance in Regina, where he worked over 25 years as a Senior Field Claims Representative, specializing in farm machinery, boats, ATVs and both commercial and industrial equipment.
He is currently licenced as a Level 3 Adjuster through the Insurance Council of Saskatchewan and earned his CIP designation in 2002.
Richard has a farming background and is a journeyman heavy duty mechanic. He worked for agricultural dealerships for almost 20 years before moving to Regina and starting on his insurance career.
Richard and his wife Brenda live in Regina. In his spare time, he helps his brothers with the fall harvest. He also cheers on the Detroit Red Wings, Saskatchewan Roughriders and Regina Pats.
MARK TRAINOR
Mark began his adjusting career with All Claims Adjusters in 2013. Prior to adjusting, he worked in product sales and service in the ag industry. He earned his adjusting license in late 2013 after taking classes through the Insurance Institute of Saskatchewan. Mark has been taking classes through the Insurance Institute of Canada and is currently licensed as a level 2 adjuster through the Insurance Council of Saskatchewan. He is also licensed in Alberta and Manitoba. Mark is a Certified HAAG roof Inspector, has completed fall protection training permitting roof inspections greater than 3 meters, and has completed his level one Xactimate certification. Mark is experienced in adjusting all types of residential, agriculture and commercial claims.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys golfing, travelling and taking in live sporting events.
EVAN KOHLI
Evan began his career in the insurance industry in 1996 as a carpenter working for local restoration contractors as well as a variety of commercial and industrial contracting firms. In 2004, Evan became a Journeyman carpenter and in 2007 started his own restoration firm. In 2018, Evan made a career change from the contracting side of the industry to pursue insurance claims management career, first working for SPECS as a construction consultant and damage appraiser then moving to Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance as an adjuster. Evan joined the Midwest Claims team on July of 2022.
Evan is a HAAG Certified Inspector, Journeyman carpenter, IICRC trained in WRT & FSRT, asbestos control, level 2 xactimate trained, and is currently working towards his CIP designation.
Evan is originally from Regina, SK and currently resides on a acreage near Regina Beach with his wife, kids, and many animals. Enjoys playing hockey, golfing, fishing and camping in his free time.
SHELLEY BUETTNER, CIP
Shelley began her insurance career in 2009 working for SGI in their auto claims department. After gaining some experience as an auto adjuster, Shelley decided to take time away to raise her family. Once deciding to return to the workforce, she obtained her broker license and gained experience working in a brokerage office until getting back on with SGI Canada in 2018 and starting her adjusting career.
In September 2020, Shelley moved to Vancouver Island, where she was able to work remotely adjusting with SGI Canada. She then accepted a position with Midwest Claims in February 2022. Shelley earned her CIP designation in October 2021. She is a licensed adjuster in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. She currently works as a telephone adjuster handling personal, commercial, liability and bodily injury claims.
Shelley is loving her time being on the west coast where she resides with her husband and three daughters. Shelley enjoys spending time with her family and exploring Vancouver Island and being at the beach whenever she can.
Saskatoon Office
LEE DIXON, B. COMM., CIP
Lee began his insurance career with a large Mutual Insurance in 2005 and has worked as an Independent Adjuster since 2007. Lee has been with Midwest Claims since May 1, 2012 when he opened the Saskatoon branch. Lee became a partner of Midwest Claims in May 2015. Lee handles all types of claims including commercial and residential property losses, liability and machinery losses, as well as loss prevention and catastrophes.
He is HAAG and Xactimate certified. Lee obtained his CIP designation in December 2015. Lee earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan with a major in Marketing and a minor in General Business.
He lives in Saskatoon with his wife Kathleen, daughter Danica, son Brendan and dog Merle. He enjoys the outdoor lifestyle with camping and fishing excursions throughout the year.
NATHAN RIVARD, CIP, CFEI, CRM
Nathan started his insurance career in 2004 in Winnipeg as a personal lines Insurance broker. He proceeded to relocate in Saskatoon in 2006 at which time he accepted a position as a broker for a commercial insurance Brokerage which specialized in Transportation and Oil/Gas. In need of a new challenge, he proceeded to start his career as an independent adjuster in 2010. During his time as an independent adjuster he was eventually promoted to the position of general adjuster handling large and complex insurance claims. Nathan brings experience in Commercial and Residential property losses, large losses, Transportation/Cargo and Municipal Insurance.
Nathan holds his CIP designation, CAIB designation (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) and his CRM (Canadian Risk Management) designation. Having an interest in the adjustment of fire losses Nathan completed a fire course through the National Association of Fire Investigators successfully earning the CFEI designation (Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator).
He resides in Warman with his wife Erin and their two children.
KEVIN BUCHHOLZ, BA
Kevin began his adjusting career with The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company in August of 2013. During this time he gained experience adjusting hail, wind, theft, water, and fire claims. In November of 2014, Kevin embarked on his independent adjusting career when he joined Crawford and Company Canada Inc. During the next three years Kevin continued to gain knowledge in residential and commercial property claims. He also took part adjusting claims for major catastrophes in Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, and Fort McMurray. Kevin joined Midwest Claims Services in September of 2017. He continues to take CIP courses to advance his level 2 adjusting license. Kevin is a HAAG Certified Roof Inspector.
Kevin was born and raised in Saskatoon, where he resides with his wife. When Kevin is not hanging out with his wife, he enjoys fishing, watching ALL sports, playing basketball, and spending time with his friends and family.
JOCELYN GUEST
Jocelyn began her insurance career as an Administrative Assistant in 2000 with Crawford & Company. In 2006, she started taking her CIP classes and got her adjuster’s license. In 2008, she moved over to Galon Insurance as a Personal Lines broker. She soon realized her passion was adjusting and in 2009 returned to Crawford & Company. In 2012, she accepted a position with Granite Claims Solutions, which was later bought out by ClaimsPro in 2014. She remained with ClaimsPro until August 2020 when she joined the Midwest team as a General Adjuster. Jocelyn is currently licensed in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia and primarily handles personal line and commercial line property claims; she also handles liability and bodily injury losses. Jocelyn does field claims as well as telephone adjust claims.
Jocelyn was born in Spalding, SK and grew up as a farm girl. She currently lives in Martensville with her husband, Travis. She has 3 children ranging in ages from 4-24yrs of age. In her spare time, you will find Jocelyn cooking, gardening, playing the piano/singing and she loves spending time at the lake.
CYLER WIENS
Cyler began his adjusting career with SGI CANADA in March of 2010 and worked as a level 2 adjuster for 8 years. During this time he gained experience adjusting hail, wind, theft, water, fire, sewer backup, agricultural claims, and commercial losses. Cyler then promoted to a level 3 adjuster, examining claims for SGI CANADA for 3 years. Cyler joined Midwest Claims Services in August of 2022.
Cyler comes from a grain farming background, has 5 years experience as an auto claims adjuster with SGI and 5 years experience in the Auto Salvage industry with SGI SALVAGE prior to becoming a claims adjuster. Cyler has a diverse mechanical and construction aptitude stemming from an interest in automotive, agricultural and commercial equipment, and also residential building technologies.
Cyler was born and raised on his families grain farm located at Beechy, SK. He currently resides in Dalmeny, SK with his wife and 4 children. When he is not busy with his family attending track & field, soccer games, or coaching soccer, Cyler is actively involved at his local church and plays drums on their worship team. Cyler enjoys building and playing drums, mountain biking, working on one of his classic truck restoration projects, doing home renovation projects for himself or others, and restoring John Deere Garden tractors.
KELSEY KOENNING
Kelsey began his adjusting career with The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company in March of 2013 starting as a Field Claims Representative Trainee and worked towards a Senior Field Claims Representative specializing in commercial lines. During this time, he gained experience adjusting hail, wind, theft, vandalism, vehicle impact, fire, water, sewer backup, catastrophe events, agricultural claims, commercial losses and condominium claims. Kelsey is a HAAG Certified Inspector. Kelsey is continuing to work towards obtaining his CIP designation.
Kelsey was born and raised in Cudworth, SK. He currently resides in Saskatoon, SK, with his wife, son and dog. Kelsey enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends, relaxing at the lake, fishing, snowmobiling, curling and woodworking.
REED WILLISON
Reed Willison as our new farm machinery and heavy equipment appraiser in North and Central Saskatchewan. In addition, Reed will also be heading up the new aviation claims division at Midwest Claims. Reed has been a commercial pilot since 2013. Prior to starting his flying career, Reed was a farm machinery and heavy equipment appraiser from 2002 to 2015. Reed is an accredited journeyman mechanic and welder with an extensive background in the aviation, agriculture, and construction industries. Reed’s wide-ranging expertise in these areas will further enhance our services to a wide client base of insurers, brokers, and corporations.
Swift Current Office
NICOLE MCCLELLAND, CIP
Nicole began her career with The Co-operators in 1996 as a telephone adjuster. In 2001, she accepted a position with SGI. Within the 10-year span of working at SGI, she was an auto adjuster/appraiser, general adjuster doing all types and sizes of claims. Nicole started with Midwest Claims Services in 2011 and became a partner in 2017.
Nicole brings with her, knowledge and experience dealing with all types of personal lines, commercial and farm losses. Growing up in rural Saskatchewan, Nicole specializes in farm property and machinery losses. Nicole also has several years of experience in auto adjusting and damage appraisals on vehicles. As Nicole lives in Southern Saskatchewan, she has a wide area and enjoys driving around the southern parts of Saskatchewan for her claims. Nicole received her CIP designation in 2015. She is a HAAG Certified Inspector.
Nicole lives on an acreage outside of Swift Current. She is the owner of Yoga Connexion. In her spare time, she likes working in her yard, teaching yoga and riding horse.
JENNIE RUSSELL, CIP
Jennie started with Midwest Claims in August of 2011 in an administrative role. She obtained her Adjusting License in 2012. Jennie handles all types of property losses, as well as liability and bodily injury claims. Jennie operates our telephone adjusting unit for insurers across western Canada.
Jennie currently holds an adjusting license in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. She has completed her CIP in 2022.
Jennie convocated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Arts degree, psychology major, Spanish minor. She resides in Swift Current with her husband and daughter. Jennie enjoys running, reading and being at the lake.
DANA PENNER
Dana began her adjusting career with Wawanesa in July of 2015 where she worked her way to a Senior Field Adjuster. During this time, she gained experience adjusting a wide variety of claims including hail, wind, theft, water, fire, sewer backup, and agricultural claims, as well as commercial losses. Dana then joined Midwest Claims Services in September of 2022. Dana is working towards her CIP designation and is licensed as a level 2 adjuster.
Dana comes from a farming background, has experience as a Building Materials Department Manager as well as Construction Manager building modular portable structures prior to becoming a claims adjuster. Dana has a diverse construction aptitude stemming from an interest in woodwork and renovations.
Dana currently resides on a farm near Rush Lake, SK with her husband.
When she is not busy with her family attending dance competitions with granddaughters and running grandchildren to sports, Dana enjoys hanging out in the garden, fishing and boating.
Lloydminster Office
LUC TURCOTTE, B.COMM., FCIP
Luc began his insurance career in 1988 as a telephone adjuster with General Accident. In 1990 he moved to Dominion of Canada as a multi-lines road adjuster and in 1996 went to The Personal in a field adjuster role and then eventually into a Supervisory role.
In 2000 Luc moved to Lloydminster, Alberta near his hometown of Chauvin, AB to take a position with an independent adjusting firm as an adjuster and eventual District Manager. In 2013 he moved on to a Senior Claims Adjuster role with a National independent adjusting firm and now is pleased to offer his services at Midwest Claims Services. Luc is licensed in both Alberta and Saskatchewan and brings with him a complete multi-line background as it relates to property and liability claims including general liability, wrap up, professional liability including errors and omissions, malpractice, and directors and officers claims. In addition, Luc specializes in course of construction and builders risk, bodily injury, equipment, and cargo claims.
He is married to Brenda and has two children Peyton and Reid. Peyton works at Midwest Claims in Saskatoon and Reid is completing his engineering degree at the U of A in Edmonton. Luc is an avid curler and golfer. He is a diehard Boston Bruins fan and Calgary Stampeder fan! He also has billets Junior A hockey player for the Lloydminster Junior A Bobcats over the years.
