Midwest Claims Insurance Services have representatives across Saskatchewan including insurance claims offices in Regina, Saskatoon and Swift Current. Get to know our reps below.
Garrett began his insurance career with the Co-operators in January of 2000. He spent eight months there as part of their CAT adjusting team. Garrett then worked with Galon Insurance Brokers as a personal lines broker and with Saskatchewan Government Insurance as an auto adjuster. In September 2003, he accepted a position with Dahlman Adjusters. Garrett purchased the company in 2007, and since changed the name to Midwest Claims Services. In addition to managing day to day operations of the company, Garrett handles all types of property claims, including commercial, agricultural, personal lines, oil field and industrial claims. Garrett earned his CIP designation in 2004. He is a licensed adjuster in Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, and British Columbia.
Garrett was born and raised in Regina and grew up in an insurance environment. His father worked at SGI Canada for 40 years, and his mother owned a Co-operators Agency in Regina. He currently resides in downtown Regina with his wife Jami and son William. He enjoys golfing, NFL football, and travelling. He is a vinyl record collector and a live music aficionado.
Shari began her insurance career with SGI in 1995. While at SGI, she worked as an underwriter in the Commercial Lines department. She then worked as an injury adjuster and general adjuster. As a general adjuster at SGI, Shari specialized in complex liability including medical malpractice, professional liability, general liability claims. Shari joined Midwest Claims Services in May 2008. At Midwest Claims, she handles all lines of insurance claims, including major loss property and liability claims.
Shari is licensed through the Saskatchewan Insurance Council. She is a member of the Insurance Institute of Canada and the Canadian Independent Adjusters Association. In addition to obtaining her CIP designation in 2003, Shari has completed numerous courses and seminars based on, boiler and machinery breakdown, Provincial and Municipal Liability, fire investigation, and HAAG Engineering.
In her spare time, Shari teaches Pilates classes, trains for triathlons and officiates triathlon events across Canada.
Curtis began his adjusting career with Wawanesa Mutual Insurance in January of 2011. In July of 2011 he started at Midwest claims. Curtis is experienced in the handling of wind, water, and hail claims. Curtis began taking CIP classes in the fall of 2011 through the Insurance Institute of Canada and is currently licensed as a level 1 adjuster through the insurance council of Saskatchewan. Curtis is a Certified HAAG Inspector and has completed fall protection training permitting roof inspections greater than 3 meters.
Curtis was born and raised in Regina, where he currently resides with his wife Krista, daughter Olivia and son Hunter. He is a competitive curler on the World and Saskatchewan Curling tours. He is a Saskatchewan Roughrider season ticket holder, enjoys golfing and is an avid football and baseball fan.
Jordan began his adjusting career with Wawanesa Mutual Insurance in October of 2009. While at Wawanesa, Jordan gained experience in adjusting water, hail, and wind claims. In October of 2010, Jordan accepted a position with Midwest Claims Services. Jordan is a Certified HAAG Inspector and has fall protection training allowing roof inspections of heights greater than 3 meters. He is currently licenced as a Level 2 Adjuster through the Insurance Council of Saskatchewan and is taking CIP classes through the Insurance Institute of Canada.
Jordan was born and raised in Tisdale, Saskatchewan and grew up in an insurance environment. Both Jordan’s grandfather and father are involved in ownership at the InsuranCentre in Tisdale. Jordan moved from Tisdale to Regina in the fall of 2006 to attend the University of Regina. In his free time, Jordan enjoys golfing and playing baseball.
Darren began his insurance career with Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) in 1996. He spent 15 years at SGI working as an injury representative. Darren has vast knowledge of 'no fault insurance' and a wealth of experience in the bodily injury and liability sectors of the industry. Darren also worked as a Claims Business Analyst at SGI. In his role, he trained other bodily injury adjusters in the province.
Darren joined Midwest Claims in 2013. He has handled all types of personal lines claims including sewer back ups, hail, wind, ice damming and fires. Darren also handles auto injury claims for out of province claimants injured in Saskatchewan. Starting in 2015, Darren will be offering Saskatchewan Auto Injury training courses for insurers and their auto injury adjusters throughout Canada. Darren obtained his CIP designation in 2010 and is a HAAG Certified Inspector.
Born and raised in Watson, SK, Darren moved several times with his career with SGI and now resides in Regina, SK. In his spare time, he enjoys curling, golfing, playing poker and is a fan of all sports.
Jay grew up in southern Saskatchewan in a small farming community and was involved in his parent's farm operations from an early age and has general knowledge of farm operations, including the use, maintenance, and operation of farm machinery.
Jay completed his Bachelor's of Kinesiology at the University of Regina in 2006 and used his education to pursue opportunities at SGI in the injury claims department. Jay's insurance career started in 2007 at SGI where he progressed quickly from a Personal Injury Rep I to Personal Injury Rep II, adjudicating No Fault injury claims. Jay continued to grow his career experience at SGI participating in various projects and opportunities including the Fair Practices Office (2013), the Injury Coverage Review Project (2014), a rewrite of the No Fault Injury Claims policy and procedural manual (2016), the Prolonged Recovery Unit (2017) – handling aged and complex injury claims, and most recently as a specialist in the Fatality Claims Unit (2018) where he played an important role in redesigning the service delivery model for family's grieving the loss of a loved one from a motor vehicle accident.
Jay obtained his Certificate in Rehab Benefits Administration (CRBA) in 2009 and obtained his Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation in 2013. After joining Midwest Claims at the end of 2018, Jay completed his Level I - Xactimate Estimate training and is also a HAAG certified inspector for residential roofs.
Jay enjoys spending time with his wife (Shauna) and two young children (Jack & Isla). When he finds some spare time, he enjoys playing guitar, curling, and hitting the gym.
Amy began her insurance career with Midwest Claims Services in September of 2013. Amy began taking CIP classes in 2014 and is currently licensed to adjust claims in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. She continues to take courses and is currently working towards her CIP designation. Amy handles a wide variety of personal lines and commercial lines property claims as well as liability and bodily injury losses. She operates our western Canada telephone adjusting claims unit, handling claims for insurers across western Canada. Amy is an expert in condominium claims and regularly assists property managers and condo boards with the navigation of claims between unit owners and condo boards.
Amy resides in Regina with her husband. She enjoys golfing, yoga and travelling.
Richard began his insurance adjusting career in May of 1993 with Wawanesa Mutual Insurance in Regina. Richard worked over 25 years as a Senior Field Claims Representative for Wawanesa Insurance specializing in farm machinery, boats, ATVs, commercial and industrial equipment.
He is currently licenced as a Level 3 Adjuster through the Insurance Council of Saskatchewan and earned his CIP designation in 2002.
Richard has a farming background and is a journeyman heavy duty mechanic. He worked for agricultural dealerships for almost 20 years before moving to Regina and starting on his insurance career.
Richard and his wife Brenda live in Regina. In his spare time, he helps his brothers with the fall harvest. He also cheers on the Detroit Red Wings, Saskatchewan Roughriders and Regina Pats.
Lee began his insurance career with Wawanesa Mutual Insurance and has worked as an Independent Adjuster for 10 years. Lee has been with Midwest Claims since May 1, 2012 when he opened the Saskatoon branch. Lee became a partner of Midwest Claims in May 2015. Lee handles all types of claims including commercial and residential property losses, liability and machinery losses, as well as loss prevention and catastrophes.
He is HAAG and Xactimate certified. Lee obtained his CIP designation in December 2015. Lee earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan with a major in Marketing and a minor in General Business.
He lives in Saskatoon with his wife Kathleen, daughter Danica, and dog Merle. He enjoys the outdoor lifestyle with camping and fishing excursions throughout the year.
Nathan started his insurance career in 2004 in Winnipeg as a personal lines Insurance broker. He proceeded to relocate in Saskatoon in 2006 at which time he accepted a position as a broker for a commercial insurance Brokerage which specialized in Transportation and Oil/Gas. In need of a new challenge, he proceeded to start his career as an independent adjuster in 2010. During his time as an independent adjuster he was eventually promoted to the position of general adjuster handling large and complex insurance claims. Nathan brings experience in Commercial and Residential property losses, large losses, Transportation/Cargo and Municipal Insurance.
Nathan holds his CIP designation, CAIB designation (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) and his CRM (Canadian Risk Management) designation. Having an interest in the adjustment of fire losses Nathan completed a fire course through the National Association of Fire Investigators successfully earning the CFEI designation (Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator).
He resides in Warman with his wife Erin and their two children.
Don began his insurance career in 1988 as a sales agent with the Co-operators in Yorkton. In 1994, Don joined Farrell Agencies in Yorkton as a marketing rep for specialty farm/agricultural risks. An interest in insurance adjusting, led Don to accept a general adjuster position with Wawanesa in Regina in 1999.
In 2004, Don accepted a transfer to Saskatoon taking the road appraiser/adjuster position, specializing in farm machinery, ATV’s, boats, commercial and industrial machinery and equipment, as well as farm property such as barns, pole buildings, grain and fertilizer storage and cleaning facilities.
Don retired from Wawanesa in 2016, after 17 years with the company. Don has since taken a position at Midwest Claims as their farm, commercial, and industrial property specialist. Don has several years of experience in appraising machinery and industrial equipment. He looks forward to adding his wealth of experience to Midwest Claims, assisting us in servicing all our clients agricultural and industrial equipment claims.
Don received his CIP designation in 2007. He is an avid fisherman, and fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Blue Jays, and Roughriders. When he’s not at work, you will find Don at the lake fishing with his grandkids.
Michael joins our expert team of adjusters with over 14 years of experience and an Advanced CIP designation. He is recognized in the industry as a Major Loss Adjuster, having handled many multi-million-dollar losses. His expertise include: commercial and personal property, transportation, liability and catastrophe claims. He has recently obtained his Advanced CIP designation and is a HAAG certified roof inspection.
Michael was born and raised in Saskatoon, SK where he and his family reside. When Michael is not hanging out with his wife or two boys, he enjoys watching baseball, camping and spending time with his friends and family.
Kevin began his adjusting career with The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company in August of 2013. During this time he gained experience adjusting hail, wind, theft, water, and fire claims. In November of 2014, Kevin embarked on his independent adjusting career when he joined Crawford and Company Canada Inc. During the next three years Kevin continued to gain knowledge in residential and commercial property claims. He also took part adjusting claims for major catastrophes in Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, and Fort McMurray. Kevin joined Midwest Claims Services in September of 2017. He continues to take CIP courses to advance his level 1 adjusting license. Kevin is a HAAG Certified Roof Inspector.
Kevin was born and raised in Saskatoon, where he resides with his wife. When Kevin is not hanging out with his wife, he enjoys fishing, watching ALL sports, playing basketball, and spending time with his friends and family.
Nicole began her insurance career with The Co-operators in 1996. After 5 years, took a job as an auto adjuster with SGI. In 2006, she was promoted to a general adjuster 2. She accepted a position with Midwest Claims in 2011 and became partner in 2017.
Nicole brings with her, knowledge and experience in dealing with all types of personal lines, commercial, farm and losses. Nicole also has several years of experience in auto adjusting and damage appraisal on vehicles.
Nicole received her CIP designation in May of 2015.
Nicole lives on an acreage outside Swift Current with her husband, Darren, and their two girls, Ashley and Hayley. In her free time, she enjoys teaching yoga and riding horses.
Jennie started with Midwest Claims in August of 2011 in an administrative role. She obtained her Level 1 Adjusting License in 2012. Jennie handles all types of property losses, as well as liability and bodily injury claims. Jennie operates our telephone adjusting unit for insurers across western Canada.
Jennie currently holds an adjusting license in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. She is taking classes and working towards her CIP designation.
Jennie graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Arts degree, psychology major, Spanish minor. She resides in Swift Current. Outside of spending time with her husband and daughter, Jennie is involved in choir and is learning to enjoy golf.
Luc began his insurance career in 1988 as a telephone adjuster with General Accident. In 1990 he moved to Dominion of Canada as a multi-lines road adjuster and in 1996 went to The Personal in a field adjuster role and then eventually into a Supervisory role.
In 2000 Luc moved to Lloydminster, Alberta near his hometown of Chauvin, AB to take a position with an independent adjusting firm as an adjuster and eventual District Manager. In 2013 he moved on to a Senior Claims Adjuster role with a National independent adjusting firm and now is pleased to offer his services at Midwest Claims Services. Luc is licensed in both Alberta and Saskatchewan and brings with him a complete multi-line background as it relates to property and liability claims including general liability, wrap up, professional liability including errors and omissions, malpractice, and directors and officers claims. In addition, Luc specializes in course of construction and builders risk, bodily injury, equipment, and cargo claims.
Luc is an avid curler and golfer. He is married to Brenda and his two children Peyton and Reid both attend post-secondary school in Saskatoon and Edmonton respectively at present. He is a diehard Boston Bruins fan and also a Calgary Stampeder fan! He also billets a Junior A hockey player for the Lloydminster Junior A Bobcats during the season.
